In-house development, also known as insourcing, describes software developed by an internal team, without external assistance from consultants or staff augmentation.

In-house development is like hiring an employee.

When you start a company, you need to hire people. Those people that you hire can be from all different departments. If you have a lot of marketing work that needs to be done, maybe you need to hire some social media managers and digital marketing experts. If you are struggling in the growth category then maybe you will need to hire someone for business development.

Companies will commonly hire in-house when they require the full-time resource of the individual, don't require as much flexibility, and can afford the overhead costs of hiring an employee.

However, sometimes if you can't afford to hire a full-time resource as an employee for some tasks, you will outsource those tasks rather than hiring employees to cover it.

In-house development is when you hire a full-time employee. In legal (IRS) speak, it is called a W-2.

Integration testing is a form of quality assurance (QA) software testing, that combines software component and tests them as a group rather than individually.

Integration testing is like a food critic at a restaurant.

A food critic is going to enter a restaurant and sit down. Throughout their experience, they are going to analyze and assess the quality of the restaurant, everything from ordering their food, to how it tastes, to the restaurant's ambiance.

A critic isn't going to assess each component of the restaurant individually, but rather as a whole. They aren't going to ask for the raw ingredients of their meal, they are going to order it whole and assess it as a complete group. They aren't going to break down the waiter's components, assessing their tone of voice, talking speed, or posture. They are going to review the process of ordering food as whole, providing an assessment on the process of all the components grouped together, rather than individually.

At the end of their experience, the food critic is going to give a series of scores/reviews that readers will interpret as an opinion on the entire restaurant.

Integration testing is a form of quality assurance with the goal being to ensure that different components of code work to their specified functional requirements.

An internal API is an interface that enables access to a company's backend information and application functionality for use by the organization's developers.

The communication between a waiter and the Chef in a restaurant.

When you are in a restaurant, a waiter must communicate to the Chef what your order is. In order to facilitate that communication, they may submit the order on an internal system or just rip the piece of paper off and stick it up on the Chef's queue.

However the waiter communicates this, the method of communication is performed by the waiter, an employee of the restaurant, to the Chef, an employee of the restaurant.

IoT, or the Internet of Things, is a network of interconnected devices, vehicles, buildings, and other objects that collect and exchange data to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and create new services.

Imagine a city where all the traffic lights, public transportation, and parking meters are connected and communicate with each other. If a traffic jam occurs, the system can adjust the timing of traffic lights to improve the flow of traffic or redirect buses to avoid congestion. This interconnected city is like the Internet of Things, where devices work together to make our lives easier and more efficient.

A user interface (UI) is the point of interaction between a user and a digital product or service, such as a website, app, or software. It includes all the elements, like buttons, menus, and forms, that allow users to navigate, interact with, and control the product or service.

Imagine a car's dashboard. It has all the controls and indicators that the driver needs to operate the vehicle, like the steering wheel, accelerator, brake pedal, and various knobs and buttons. In this analogy, the car's dashboard is like a user interface, providing a way for the driver (the user) to interact with the car (the digital product).

A user interface is the digital "dashboard" that allows users to control and interact with a product or service.

iOS is a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple Inc. exclusively for its hardware devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Imagine a city where all the buildings, roads, and infrastructure are designed and built by a single company. This company also sets the rules and regulations for how everything in the city should operate. iOS is like that city, and Apple is the company that designs, builds, and governs it.

iOS is the software that runs on Apple's mobile devices, allowing them to function and providing a consistent user experience.
